Containers

CONTAINER MISSION STATEMENT

To identify, source, collect, sort and distribute aid supplies  according to the needs of our supported projects.

Since 1999 we have sent out over Twenty 40 Ft. Containers of aid to needy orphanages, hospitals, schools and medical clinics to countries in “Our World” . We have sent the bulk of our containers to Zambia but also to Nepal, India Cameroon and Brazil

Container to Zambia 2018

All the football kits, balls, boots, rugby balls and other sports wear that was very kindly donated to TOUCH Ireland had finally reached its destination.

To get our container to its destination required great assistance and generosity of many people and their companies who support our efforts as follows:

David McLoughlin of McLoughlin Transport in Carrick on Shannon.

David supplies us with the use of his warehouse facilities to store our supplies over the period of collection. He also transports our containers to the Docks. This year he also coordinated the packing of the container before its departure.

Tom/Paul/Gretta Fitzsimons of VanFleet Transport

They collect equipment and supplies wherever needed and transport them from our two storage areas in Dublin to Carrick on Shannon. VanFleet have been with us since the beginning.

Cathal O’Connor of O’Connor Cabins
Cathal sourced the container for TOUCH Ireland and delivered it to McLoughlin’s warehouse in Carrick on Shannon.

Niamh and Sean McGrath of McGrath Transport and Haulage

Both Niamh and Sean helped to get the sea worthy cert for the container and liaised with the shipping company.

Michael Ryan of Security Cargo Seals

Michael provided the Security Seals for the Container Doors

Clive, Brian and Siobhan of DAMCO Logistics

They safely transported our container from Ireland all the way to Lusaka, Zambia.

Ethel Phiri of DARE Clearing and Forwarding Zambia

Ethel organised receiving the container and the Tax exemption for the container.

Ethel has been part of what we do with containers form the beginning.

Finally thanks to all who donated items and thanks to all TOUCH Ireland volunteers for their meticulous marking of boxes and packing on the day. The fruits of your hard work have now been realised.
